The Cybershot DSC-TX5 is a rugged camera which stands out from other cameras in this realm in that the design is great. It doesn’t look like a rugged camera. It’s ultra-compact with a pleasing, minimalist design.
Although the DSC-TX5 doesn’t have the claim of being able to perform in the most extreme of conditions it’s tough enough to cope well in a variety of outdoor pursuits. It’s waterproof up to 3 metres, shockproof in falls up to 1.5 meters, coldproof down to -10 degrees celcius and dustproof. This makes it a great camera for travelling especially with the small, thin form. It’s great for outdoor activities except in deep water.
Image quality is fairly decent given the other selling points. The touchscreen is very responsive and start-up time is fast.
