We reported a couple of months ago on the new Garmin Nuvi 3700 series due to arrive in Australia this year.
Well the Garmin Nuvi 3760 is here and the 3760T should be available within a week or two. These are models have received great praise for the looks in particular and a fantastic feature set to go with it.
The device looks more like a large smartphone than a GPS unit. It’s thin, light and very stylish with a brushed aluminium body, chrome edges and a glass covered screen. The Australasian sales and marketing comments on the gorgeous new design.
“We believe the nuvi 3700 range absolutely sets a new standard in the marketplace,” said Matt De Moss, Garmin Australiasia’s national sales and marketing manager. “Today’s products must be as stylish as they are functional and we are very confident this represents the most complete and comprehensive portable navigation device on the market.”
The high resolution 4.3” capacitive touchscreen is very sharp with features such as pinch-to-zoom, again more like a smartphone than a GPS. There is an inbuilt accelerometer so the device can be used in landscape or portrait mode. It’s a great unit for a car or walking. It fits easily into a pocket and has a dedicated pedestrian mode.
The Garmin Nuvi 3760 is highly specced with bluetooth, whereis maps for Australia and New Zealand, speed and red camera alerts, speed limit display, lane guidance, junction view, text to speech and myTrends. The Nuvi 3760T has all these features plus lifetime traffic updates, 3D city mapping and support for voice commands.
You can buy the Nuvi 3760 online from Ryda for $418.85. The 3760T will be available soon about $100 on top of that price tag.
