We reported yesterday that Navteq will incorporate Lonely Planet information such as restaurants and bars into their maps. This was announced at Cebit Sydney.
Further details indicate that Navman will be the first to incorporate this feature into their GPS models and it will be available for 19 locations across Australia and New Zealand in a couple of months time.
Navteq director, Kirk Mitchell says that the initiative is aimed at increasing the penetration of GPS in Australia and particularly tipping the balance in favour of higher value models with additional features such as the Lonely Planet information.
